No one that can actually type could use this even if it was able to print correctly!!!! This went back the same day it arrived.

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these for an old '59 Underwood Golden Touch, and for the price they're decent enough. They fit into the ribbon holders. The ink prints dark on the page, though you can see some textural marks on the letters; however, that could be my typewriter; old machines to have a lot of imperfections. At any rate, a good buy. Shipping costs a good amount of cash, so go look in a store first.

(More customer reviews)I bought this typewriter for my Executive Assistant, when her old Brother typewriter broke down. She really likes it - she still has to type bills of lading via typewriter (we are technologically sound otherwise!), and she sometimes isn't given much notice by the owners when she has to type up 10 or 12 of the bills of lading in a big hurry. This typewriter has it all, is easy to figure out right out of the box, and is relatively quiet when it's operating. DON'T FORGET TO GET THE 3.5" FLOPPY DISK DRIVE!! It plugs into your computer and allows you to input all the data you need for whatever project you are doing, it retains formatting, etc., so when you put your sheet of paper or bill of lading in the typewriter, you only have to hit a couple of buttons, and the typewriter types it all for you (read - mostly hands OFF!) It has been a Godsend - I couldn't find anything else that did what the Assistant needed & feel lucky to have found this! Great product, fast service. A+++

(More customer reviews)If you have not been mad- I mean really good and mad- for a long time, this is the machine for you. It will guarantee frustration as long as you try to use it. I ordered this machine and the first one arrived broken. The second one worked but made the worst sounds when I would hit the return key, or backspace. Good for annoying my boss so I kept it. After a few days it randomly would assign margins, I would hit the margin release, clear any and all settings and it would work for a line or two and then at random indent, assign margins ect. No 2 lines of text would ever line up, and it felt like the typewriter equivalent to writing with a crayon. Eventually (within 30 days) I was unable to do anything with the machine. I could go on, but you get the point, I would pass on this machine.

When I saw this typewriter on Amazon.Com, I was shocked to see such a wonderful model going for such a small price. Daisy Wheel typewriters provide a long life, durability, and good quality production. Not to mention that it came with free shipping. And on a ten pound item, you will pay more than you would like for shipping and handling. This has several features that save a lot of time, and a lot of repeating, frustrating motions. The only thing better than the great deal our friends at amazon have given us is this: With a high Yeild Nylon Ribbon, it flows like a stretch of silk. I am currently half way through my next book, coming to about four-hundred pages as of now, and I am still on the same ribbon I started with. One High-Yeild ribbon is good for about 80,000 characters. If you are a student, this is a nice buy, and cheaper than buying a computer and a printer. If you are a writer like me, then you might hit it big on this one. In closing, you should grab these up, because the free shipping won't last forever, and I know all of my friends will want one. So, here's to you, Amazon, for this great model at an affordable price.

(More customer reviews)I received this for a gift and am extremely happy with it. I love to write short stories but often have writer's block, so I'm excited to have a new format. The best part about this typewriter is that even though it's electronic, it still makes the familiar old "clacking" sound as you type, and has the familiar typewriter font--really sets the mood for creative writing. I wouldn't have expected a typewriter to have spell-check, but this one does--it makes a little dinging sound if you spell a word incorrectly, and gives you the ability to erase one letter, the word, or an entire line with the (included and already installed) correction tape. You can adjust the positioning of the paper yourself with the knob on the side, which would be helpful when filling out forms. Includes a keyboard cover to keep dust out of the keys, and a carrying handle. Overall, the typewriter is easy to set up and use.
