(More customer reviews)Great way to save money on ink- BUT you must know how to trick your printer into using generic ink. I have a Brother MFC-290, You MUST unplug the printer, install the new ink - ((and you MUST replace all ink colors with generic... you cannot just replace black with generic and have brothers ink in the rest.)) SO take out old ink, put all new generic in, then turn on printer. You might have to take them out, and put back in until your printer says the colors are all there. Then.. you are good to go!
Save $100 on ink is worth messing around a bit. Also, if you let your printer sit with no ink for awhile- this type of cartrige is good for drying up - gooping up your printer head - no matter WHAT kind of ink you are using. If this happens, take a q-tip and spray it with windex- remove ink cartrige and swab out the area where the ink connects and enters printer... then using menue on printer you can tell it to clean printer heads. Should fix it... I have been battling with this printer for a year now- I wont buy another one, but this is a lot cheaper in the mean time.
