This old machine is perfect, I bought a CD printer from casio and like it so much , that I bought this label machine and is as good as the cd printer. Because this machine is old, the PC interface is a RS 232 connector, which is not available anymore with this new computers, so I bought an USB to RS232 adapter, and installed the drivers and then you have to manually assign the port which the program that comes with the machine will use to send info to the label machine. After a while the machine finally worked just like the CD printer .
The program included in the package lets you write any type of letter and copy and paste pictures on the label or design whatever you want and then print it, as long it fit on the predetermined space, it will print.
So far i've done many prints and it works flawlessly.

I ordered these ribbons because they were labeled 'Nu-kote" which is the name brand I was after. However, I was very disappointed to open the package and discover a generic brand was sent to me. I have not had good luck in the past with generic calculator ribbons which is the reason I spent extra time trying to find the Nu-kote brand. I feel completely mislead and dissatisfied with the transaction as well as the product.

Casio KL-100 Label Printer Review

This thing comes in handy, and has saved me plenty of aggravation. Granted, having a label printer is somewhat of a luxury, but I find it very useful.
How many times have you needed to reinstall an OS, but forgot where the manual was with that damn key? Or if you are like me, the CDROM and CD case invariably gets separated at some point-especially with games that require the CDROM to play.
I always loose CD software key codes. I also tend to loose CD cases with the key stickers. Or worse, I've purchased and downloaded software, only to see my hard drive crash months later. Have you ever tried to contact a company like Intuit to get a copy of software that you purchased a year ago and get a key? It is a lesson in futility and frustration.
I'm much more organized now. I now burn a CD-R with downloaded software and label it with the unlock code, then store it elsewhere. I print a label with the CD key on original CDROMs, throwing away the case, and placing it with all my other CDs in an organizer binder. I also throw away the cardboard boxes that contain the games (or applications). My work area isn't so cluttered anymore.
Also great for legibly labeling file manila file folders.
Stock up on AA batteries, it uses six.
