(More customer reviews)By far and away the best headlamp I have ever owned and I have had a few. From Petzl, Pelican, Night Blaster, Nite Lite and Black Diamond. I have used LED's, halogens, etc. Not that the other brands are not good, its just that this is the best bang for the buck in my opinion. My only reason for buying new Princeton Tec's is to stay on top with the latest and greatest. This headlamp is my fifth Princeton Tec.
Unlike other opinions, I think the scarcity of the CR123 battery is hardly a pitfall. What is gained is a weight savings over the conventional 4 - AA batteries that is well worth the battery scarcity. If you are on Amazon, then you are no stranger to online shopping, there are several vendors out there that sell CR123 batteries.
I recommend that persons wanting this headlamp purchase rechargeable Lithium batteries and keep the included disposable batteries for backup.
Rugged, simple design with a water tight battery compartment, is truly an expression of form follows function.
The adjustable low beam led's provide more than enough personal light, while the 200 lumen high beam is amazing and more than enough for long range.
Princeton Tec customer service is top notch should you ever need. This is what is most important, in that they stand behind their product and are not here today gone tomorrow. I have been a fan since 1999.
If there is one negative, then it is that like all headlamps that sport a cloth, stretch headband, it will eventually wear out. That's why they are replaceable.
Give these guys a chance to impress as they have done for me.
