(More customer reviews)I tested this at a local camera store tonight, and was pleasantly surprised. Though the cheapest tripod there, it was quite stable and easy to use. It was also surprisingly light (1.3#), and available in several colors, of which my favorite is this light blue model. I particularly liked the flip-up head for vertical format shots and ease of attaching a camera.
The only disadvantage I noted was that it can't adjust up to my eye level, though a similar taller model is also available from Amazon. This model also lacks the leveling feet of my current tripod.
In the end, I decided to go with the more expensive, harder to use, and flimsier Tamrac TR406 ZipShot Compact Ultra-Light Instant Tripod, figuring that the best tripod is the one I'm willing to have with me, and the Zipshot is only 11 oz and half the bulk of this model.
