(More customer reviews)To start - I am a staunch advocate for CIS! But let's get down to the brass tacks! I've used CIS on much larger machines, and highly satisfied. So when I saw one available for my Brother MFC 6490 - I watched the videos, read the reviews, I'm sold on the idea. I placed the order.
Ratings: 1) the order was shipped pronto - 5 stars. 2)did the manufacturer put these cartridges in my printer? No. 0 Stars.
Just because the cartridge number is the same, doesn't mean that the physical characteristics of the various machines are identical.
I installed the cartridges per instructions - but the tab that sticks up on the 4th cartridge that activates the door trigger (a) is in the wrong place, and (b) didn't even reach the cabinet of the printer. Then the real problem raised its ugly head - I put a soft stick in the door trigger to test the cartridges - the printer didn't load any ink from the black cartridge, even though it had clicked into place.
To summarize - Vendor 5 stars, Manufacturer 0 (5 stars for concept, 0 for testing)

(More customer reviews)These generic replacement ink cartridges work perfectly in my Brother MFC-490CW printer. I have ordered them several times, and have never had any problems. The MFC-490CW is a general purpose printer, and the results using these cartridges is comparable to the original Brother LC61 cartridges. Colors look decent, and ink consumption seems to be similar to the original. Being generic, there may or may not, be a brand name on the box. The generic cartridge looks slightly different from the Brother, but have no worries, they fit and are recognized by the printer's ink level monitor.
These non-OEM cartridges are packaged and sold in various quantities, so it can take a bit of research to find the best deal, for the kind of printing you do (color vs. black ink). The prices for these items fluctuate, but with shipping costs included, a unit cost in the one to two dollar range is common. That is still a fraction of the cost of the Brother LC61 cartridge. And the prices for generics at Amazon, are often better than what can be found on eBay.
Unlike Canon, Brother does not take extreme measures to try and force consumers to buy their products. These generics are inexpensive, easy to use, and produce good results. Until something better comes along, there is no reason for me to consider using anything else.

When I bought the printer the original ink cartridges lasted about 6 weeks. The cartridges from Ink 4 less have lasted me a little over 9 months. WOW! What a difference.
I would recommend them to anyone.

(More customer reviews)The colors are great and a great value. The black cartridge I received does not work in my Brother MFC-490CM. I suspect it has something to do with size. In my printer the black brother cartridge is bigger than the colored ones, but in the package, the black was the same size as all the other colors. The cartridge snaps in, and the printer gets ready, but it does not draw any ink from it.

There was a slight mix up in shipping charges but 1 email to 77Ink and it was taken care of and my account was credited immediately. I am very impressed with their customer service!
As far as the ink goes, it's working out great. It seems to be lasting considerably longer than the cartridges that were supplied with printer. All cartridges were vacuum packed. Colors are great!
I definitely recommend 77Ink and their products!

We have ordered these several times before. They print well, no mess, are easy to remove and install.
The ink is very long-lasting, just don't change the cartridge when the printer says it's low. Wait until the printer tells you the cartridge is EMPTY.
