(More customer reviews)They make it sound so easy. It's not! The drill they give to for making the holes to refill is a joke. I wound up using an electric drill myself. After refilling, the cartridge no longer worked properly. I would not recommend this product. I had to throw out the cartridge AND the refill kit. I also questioned the company about leaving the holes open after refilling and was told that they would not leak ink. They leaked ink!

I was concerned because one of the colors (yellow?) looked like a different color than it was supposed to be. I trusted the label and sure enough when printing it came out just like it was supposed to. heh, I don't understand how that works, but it does. Oh, and shipping was WICKED fast, seriously, these people filled my order and had it shipped out that very day.

(More customer reviews)These products worked fine for a couple of months, then yellow and red stopped printing. The printer recognized them and reports them full. I tried cleaning, but they did not print at all. The blue printed partially.
I bought OEM Brother cartridges and they work fine now, but the almost full MIPO cartridges do not work at all.
I emailed MIPO and they said nothing. Therefore, Watch Out YMMV

Great product, It works just like advertised. You really need to get one of these, but it is defiantly better to have separate print heads and cartridges when using this product, otherwise you have to clean the print heads that are attached to the cartridges. If they are separate, you only have to replace the print head when the print quality is noticeably poorer.

(More customer reviews)These cartridges have been nothing but trouble. The MFC-6490CW seldom recognizes them. When it does, it thinks they're empty.
In short, these guys didn't do their homework on compatibility. Just because the cartridges snap in doesn't mean they're compatible.
As much as I hate to spend it, I'll be purchasing the brother cartridges from now on.

(More customer reviews)To start - I am a staunch advocate for CIS! But let's get down to the brass tacks! I've used CIS on much larger machines, and highly satisfied. So when I saw one available for my Brother MFC 6490 - I watched the videos, read the reviews, I'm sold on the idea. I placed the order.
Ratings: 1) the order was shipped pronto - 5 stars. 2)did the manufacturer put these cartridges in my printer? No. 0 Stars.
Just because the cartridge number is the same, doesn't mean that the physical characteristics of the various machines are identical.
I installed the cartridges per instructions - but the tab that sticks up on the 4th cartridge that activates the door trigger (a) is in the wrong place, and (b) didn't even reach the cabinet of the printer. Then the real problem raised its ugly head - I put a soft stick in the door trigger to test the cartridges - the printer didn't load any ink from the black cartridge, even though it had clicked into place.
To summarize - Vendor 5 stars, Manufacturer 0 (5 stars for concept, 0 for testing)

(More customer reviews)In light of the bad review I was holding my breath in anticipation of trying these cartridges on my printer. I needed to replace the black and yellow cartridges and put printing on hold rather than buying locally. They arrived a few days ago and, since I waited for them, I had a lot of printing to do...both print and graphics. I agree with reviewer #1. I feel bad for reviewer #2 and can only wonder what his problem may have been. Perhaps he simply received a defective cartridge which I'm sure happens from time to time. Let's face it, you get nine refills for less than the price of one black & white. I'm willing to accept an occasional defect.
TO THE POINT: They all work just fine on my printer. I've had no smudging at all and, honestly, they look just as good as the manufacturer's do. I'm going to run through the one's I installed and make sure no problems creep up in the future and then order another set. If I find any problems I will repost with an update.
