Turns out they sent a TN360 instead of the TN460 that was ordered to fit my MFC 8500 machine.
So now we sent an email, and play the waiting game.

Using them caused our print quality to deteriorate and put large black shadows and linese on all our pages, making them illegible. I called Brother for tech support and was told our printer was not the problem. The problem was the fact that the toner was not a genuine Brother product and that Brother could not even help me troubleshoot. This was False Advertising on the part of "greattoners" and Amazon! Be aware that the toners you receive may not be the genuine products advertised.

The third cartridge had water in it a ruined my printer. I have not attempted to use the 4th. While I should get a replacement, the experience with this seller is unsatisfactory as the replacements had the same issue as the first. I will not order from them again.

(More customer reviews)The cartridge I got was NOT the one in the photo, but I consider this a GOOD thing since the one I received more closely resembles the original Brother cartridge I had than the one in the photo does.
Dropped in and the printer (HL-2140) picked up on it right away, I did not need to turn off the printer, or do anything "funny" to get the printer working again. Opened the front bay, popped it in and it works. I cannot yet comment on the yield (claimed 2,600 pages) since I have printed a grand total of one page thus far. This product would get 5 stars if I could come back and edit this later after meeting or exceeding the stated yield, but since I don't _know_ how many pages this cartridge will run through, I can't give it 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)I read all sorts of bad reviews for this product and other toner cartridges made by companies other than the maker of the printer. One said "It spilled all over the place!" No, but it does have a layer of toner on the roller. Careful not to touch it to anything when you put it in. Some say it stopped working too soon. Maybe, but there are three things to do to prolong the life, and use every drop of toner out of it.
When the toner light (or on-screen message) says the toner is low, take the cartridge out, and shake it side to side. There are two little lenses, one on each end, that the printer "reads" to find out if it's low. A tiny square of electrical tape over those lenses takes care of that. Third, there's a little gear on one end that can be removed -- find a Youtube video for details. Taking off that gear and keeping the lenses taped will completely disable the printer's sensors, and it'll print until it completely runs dry. At most, you'll have about 20 faded pages at the end before it doesn't print anything anymore.

It may be coincidental, but that hasn't been a problem since installing this toner cartridge. How long it will last remains to be seen, but I am hopeful it will print at least as long as a Brother brand unit. Very satisfied for under $20. plus shipping.

(More customer reviews)It seems like an good product. We've been using it for over a month and a paper for a master's degree is being printed with it so it's getting a workout. So far it's working fine and quite a bit cheaper than the OEM version. WARNING - no instructions were included and there is more to it than just swapping out drums. You have to reset the counter in the printer or the lights stay on and annoy the crap out of you. Go on line to the Brother site and they have step by step instructions including how to reset the counter. Anyone who can read can handle this.
