(More customer reviews)I read all sorts of bad reviews for this product and other toner cartridges made by companies other than the maker of the printer. One said "It spilled all over the place!" No, but it does have a layer of toner on the roller. Careful not to touch it to anything when you put it in. Some say it stopped working too soon. Maybe, but there are three things to do to prolong the life, and use every drop of toner out of it.
When the toner light (or on-screen message) says the toner is low, take the cartridge out, and shake it side to side. There are two little lenses, one on each end, that the printer "reads" to find out if it's low. A tiny square of electrical tape over those lenses takes care of that. Third, there's a little gear on one end that can be removed -- find a Youtube video for details. Taking off that gear and keeping the lenses taped will completely disable the printer's sensors, and it'll print until it completely runs dry. At most, you'll have about 20 faded pages at the end before it doesn't print anything anymore.

Brother 3/8 Inch x 26.2 Feet Black on White for P-Touch (TZ221) Review

(More customer reviews)I have used several Brother label makers, all of which use the TZ series tapes. Of those tapes, my two favorite are black on white in this width and the 3/8" width. I prefer the 1/2" width for hanging file folders because the label fits nicely on the tab. I like the 3/8" width (TZ-221) for use with manila folders because the narrower width positions closer to the edge of the tab.
There is also a 1/2" tape that is black on clear. However, the clear tapes also show any dirt or debris that might be trapped behind the tape. Thus, if you are in an environment that has even a small amount of dirt or other contamination, it may be readily visible against a light background after the tape is positioned.
One other caution regarding these tapes; the backing can be difficult to remove. The newer tape cartridges have a split backing that is easier to remove than the original single piece backing. Even so, a certain amount of manual dexterity is required to remove the backing.
UPDATE: Since the time I originally wrote this review, Brother has modified the backing to be in two pieces, making the backing easier to remove. However, the individual backing pieces can be a pain to throw away because they like to stick to just about everything through static electricity.
This tape adheres readily; the print is nicely defined and has a high contrast. The tape can be slightly difficult to handle. Overall, this tape is very useful in a variety of applications and one of my two favorite label maker tapes.

(More customer reviews)*EDIT* After 2 weeks with this thing, I have seen it is not perfect, but still worth the price. Specifically, it jams frequently when using full duplex printing. I have pretty much given up on using full duplex with this drum.
Just received this generic drum replacement for my HL-5250DN and after some fiddling it appears that it will be just fine, and at about 1/6th the cost of the OEM version.
One hint, after installing my printer still thought it was using a nearly-dead drum unit. After extensive Googling I was able to find the drum unit count reset procedure, which is this:
1. Open printer door (The same one you opened to take out the toner/drum)
2. Hold down the GO button until all the lights on the top are lit up
3. Release GO button
4. Close door
5. Print at least 5 test pagesThis worked like a charm for me

It's a bit hard to remove the backing sometimes. This tape is hard to find and super expensive in stores. Got a great deal by getting it from Amazon. Labeled everything and I mean EVERYTHING in my kitchen and still lots of tape left. Now I'm all organized and the kitchen looks great!

I contacted the company [...] to resolve the issue and they told me to clean the print heads. As this printer is an LED printer there are no print heads to clean so their advice was worthless and they seemed reluctant to replace the product. After searching the internet for half and hour I found out how to access the toner menus in the printer and reset them manually. So far this seems to have worked but this product did not perform correctly as it should have without extra effort and hassle on my part.

(More customer reviews)I have used "compatible" cartridges for years with my other printers, with no problems, and I was truly hopeful my experience would be the same here. Unfortunately, you are really taking your chances when you purchase this product. The first cartridge I ordered from 4inkjets worked perfectly in my printer with absolutely no problems what so ever. The only issue I took with it was that it is marketed as a "High Yield" toner cartridge, but only produced the number of copies you would expect from a normal cartridge, NOT what is advertised for the "High Yield" cartridge. In fact, it produced a little more than HALF the number of copies it was supposed to produce.
The 4inkjets customer service was OK in taking care of this problem. They gave me two choices; send the cartridge back on my own dime, for a "full" refund, minus any shipping costs, OR buy a new cartridge at half price. I chose the second option.
The second cartridge I received was marked as being a TN-650, but absolutely DID NOT fit my printer. It was sent by a different distributor (4inkjets uses multiple distributors for each individual product), and was built so differently on the outside that there was no possible way for it to lock into position in the printer at all.
Again, customer service was mediocre, at best. Once more, I was given the option to send it back on my own dime, and kindly given the address which I could send the product to. I asked to speak to someone else about the matter, given the cartridge was not compatible with my printer, and was told UPS return shipping labels would be emailed right away. The labels were never emailed, even after many days and multiple phone calls.
I ended up sending both cartridges back (which cost nearly $9 each through USPS!!!, and that is after paying about $10 of non-refundable money to have them sent to me in the first place). Needless to say, this product was a HUGE waste of money. You really are better off just getting the brand name cartridge.

When I saw this typewriter on Amazon.Com, I was shocked to see such a wonderful model going for such a small price. Daisy Wheel typewriters provide a long life, durability, and good quality production. Not to mention that it came with free shipping. And on a ten pound item, you will pay more than you would like for shipping and handling. This has several features that save a lot of time, and a lot of repeating, frustrating motions. The only thing better than the great deal our friends at amazon have given us is this: With a high Yeild Nylon Ribbon, it flows like a stretch of silk. I am currently half way through my next book, coming to about four-hundred pages as of now, and I am still on the same ribbon I started with. One High-Yeild ribbon is good for about 80,000 characters. If you are a student, this is a nice buy, and cheaper than buying a computer and a printer. If you are a writer like me, then you might hit it big on this one. In closing, you should grab these up, because the free shipping won't last forever, and I know all of my friends will want one. So, here's to you, Amazon, for this great model at an affordable price.

(More customer reviews)I have wanted a labeling device for some time and always thought of them as plastic strips with pressed letters. These labels are great and so easy to make. I choose this one as it comes with an ac adapter which is about another $30 dollars for the ones without. At $45 it was less than a $20 labeler plus adpater. As other reviewers state, the machine is the cheap part, the tape is the expensive part. Check the cutting settings so you don't waste tape. I have not used the software that comes with this as those capibilities at this time exceed my needs. I leave it plugged in and it is reay to go. After a short period of non-use it goes to sleep. I am using the labels for cords and transfomers around my computer, labeling items, and will soon use them on file folders. At that time I may find uses for the software. All yo do is type in your info, if you need more than one line hit enter. Easy preview. You just have to remember to hit enter after every entry in the menu. The info remains so you can print it again or easily clear. I recommend it.
